Low-income communities of color face the greatest risks from environmental hazards
We tackle the intersectionality of climate change and social justice: our programs help students understand how environmental racism exacerbates social disparities and trauma in frontline communities, where residents face higher risks of pollution-related health issues.

Power Building for Climate Action
Frontline Catalysts is a bold youth power-building organization rooted in Oakland. We engage young leaders ages 11–24 from frontline communities most impacted by environmental racism and structural disinvestment. Through our pillars, we engage, explore, and empower youth to grow from learners to advocates to organizers.
Our work blends cultural healing, ethnic studies, and hands-on climate action for youth to transform—healing themselves and their neighborhoods in the process. Through youth leadership programs, we equip youth with the tools to show up, speak out, and be the catalysts for change—and win.
