We recognize that the environmental crisis is not separate from capitalism and racial injustices.

We understand that the systems of oppression and colonization that perpetuate poverty and racism are inextricably linked to the destruction of our planet. We must therefore; fight for environmental justice alongside struggles against health, economic and racial injustice.

We believe that the planet is not a commodity to be exploited by humanity but rather a sacred & delicate ecosystem that requires responsible stewardship.

We are committed to building a society that is grounded in ecological balance, guided by a shared belief that mother earth is the provider of food and shelter and we honor the interdependence of all living things.

We recognize that the first people, the indigenous people, are the natural stewards of Mother Earth.

We strive towards a world in which humanity lives in harmony with nature, while supporting the protection and restoration of indigenous cultures, traditions, and knowledge for future generations.

We believe that the communities on the frontlines of climate justice are the ones that will create equitable and just change for all.

We prioritize the leadership and agency of those most affected by environmental destruction and injustice. We work alongside them to demand systemic change and support their community-based solutions.

We believe that young people possess the power to end climate change.

We recognize that the next generation agents of change will play a critical role in building a just and sustainable future. Therefore, we use the guiding principles of Ethnic Studies to educate and facilitate the agency of young people. We believe that this education will empower them to become leaders and advocates for climate justice.
